For the Love of...

People often ask why I run myself the way I do. Why do I do so much? Why am I a science blogger? When did I become a musician? Why did I add radio? Do I like being cellular tech support?

 I wear myself out.

A lot.

But I do it for a lot of reasons. I do it for love:

for the love of butterflies...

and secret beaches...

for Floyd...

for the hidden beauty of the unfinished canvas...

for hurt and pain and becoming the monkey on his back...

 

for lights and productions and music...

for bacon and good times at Betsy's with new faces and old friends.

But mostly, I do it for me.

I do it because even though sometimes I feel my world falling apart, I know that there is always something else, someone else, someplace else, some new adventure just around the corner. I do it because I love. So much.


What keeps you motivated?

Weather Conspirators

They must exist. I finally have a day off(ish) and was planning a fabulous beach day with some friends and dear Floyd, and it's cloudy and poopy. The weather networks say sunny high of 82! What the heck!? I guess I will just hang out here! This could have been poor Floyd today. She needs a doggy beach day badly. *sniff* The weathermen are conspiring against me... I just know it!

Because of the lack of anything cheap on island, I have neglected to get my film developed in any sort of reasonable time-frame. Yes, I still use film. Something about the crispness and inability to delete the bad ones... you have to make every shot count, you know? It makes you a better photographer, I think. Anyway, I finally got a roll developed and I was so pleased to see this adorable picture of my Floyd on it.
